It is my great pleasure to invite you to the 7th International Conference on Luminescent Detectors and
Transformers of Ionizing Radiation LUMDETR 2009 which is to be held in Kraków, Poland from 12 July to 17 July 2009 and is organized by
Institute of Nuclear Physics.
The general topic of this conference series is energy transfer, migration and optical deexcitation in wide-gap solids,
and in particular the theory, modelling, development and characterization of properties of materials used in active
optical systems, such as scintillators, luminophors, other opto-electronic detectors of ionizing radiation, lasers,
and various optoelectronic devices.
At the Conference the latest applications of the luminescence techniques in medical diagnostics, radiotherapy,
biology and dosimetry of ionizing radiation will also be discussed.
Within the LUMDETR2009, the Summer School of Luminescence will be organized for students and young investigators
(but open for all participants). It will have a form of "refreshment lectures" on the basic aspects of the conference topics,
given at the beginning of each conference day by an expert in the field.
I look forward seeing you.
