COMPLEX SYSTEMS THEORY DEPARTMENT

INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR PHYSICS, POLISH ACADEMY OF SCIENCES

About Us

Our department was established in 2004 as a direct descendant of the former Nonlinear Dynamics Lab formed in 1993. We focus our activity on interdisciplinary research in the following areas: theory of complex systems, nonlinear dynamics, analysis of empirical data, and modelling of biological and socioeconomic systems. Our prospective goal is to understand dynamics of complex systems and to discover universal laws that govern formation and evolution of such systems.

In particular, our present research is devoted to the following fields:

  • ⟶     Econophysics
  • ⟶     Quantitative linguistics
  • ⟶     Neuroscience
  • ⟶     Fractal analysis
  • ⟶     Complex networks
