2015-2016

The scope of work done under management of DAI engineers

IFJ PAN participated in the assembly of the linear accelerator (SPIRAL 2) at the GANIL Institute in Caen in France. The accelerator has the potential to accelerate deuterons to 40 MeV and heavy ions to 14.5 MeV /u.
IFJ PAN employees took part in the installation of cryomodules and helium gas distribution stations. In particular:

before installation in the tunnel:

• electrical and leak tests,
• checking and installing additional equipment

and
during installation in the tunnel:

• cryomodules and gas distribution stations (valveboxs) were transported to the destination place in the tunnel,
• set them up,
• cryogenic and vacuum lines connected,
• super insulation was put on,
• leakage tests have been carried out,
• safety devices installed.
