Who we are?

Department of Molecular Engineering and Nanoelectronics was established on the 10th of July, 2019 as a part of Division of Condensed Matter Physics in The Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences in Kraków. Currently, the department consists of seven researchers and four PhD students.

What do we do?

Our main topics are related with synthesis of novel functional composite material based on mesoporous silica and anodic aluminium oxide filled with different metal-based compounds. Obtained materials are tested for potential magnetic, optical and medical applications. Our speciality is the synthesis and modification of the following materials:
- Vertically‐aligned Mesoporous Silica Films (EASA method)
- Vertically‐aligned Mesoporous Silica Films (Stöber method)
- Silica nanoparticles
- SBA-15 nanoparticles
- MCM-41 nanoparticles
- Anodic aluminium oxide (AAO)
- AAO/mesoporous silica composites
